Why Head-On Crashes Can Cause Severe Injuries
Head-on collisions are among the most dangerous types of crashes because the forces involved are often much higher than in side or rear-end impacts. Even at moderate speeds, a direct collision can cause severe trauma to drivers and passengers.
Children are especially vulnerable in these crashes due to their smaller size and fragility. Proper use of child safety seats or seat belts can help reduce—but not eliminate—the risk of serious injury.
Drivers can reduce the likelihood of head-on crashes by staying alert, maintaining proper lane position, and avoiding distractions. Defensive driving and awareness of oncoming traffic are critical for preventing these deadly incidents.
