Colorado Springs, CO (April 29, 2026) – A crane operator was found dead on Tuesday morning after becoming trapped inside equipment at Peak Innovation Park near the Colorado Springs Airport.
Emergency units responded to a technical rescue call at the site, where crews discovered the operator trapped within the crane. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Recovery efforts continued for several hours, and the body was removed around 2 p.m. with assistance from specialized equipment. Officials have not released the victim’s identity, pending notification of the next of kin.
