Columbia, SC (January 11, 2026) – A 33-year-old woman was transported to a local hospital following a rear-end collision in the Midtown–Downtown area of Columbia late Friday night.
According to dispatch communications, the patient was a restrained passenger in a vehicle that sustained rear-end damage approximately 35 minutes before EMS contact. While the collision was categorized as non-emergent, advanced life support was provided during transport due to the nature of the patient’s symptoms.
She complained of neck and chest pain, with a reported head impact during the crash. Although she was unsure whether she had lost consciousness, her condition remained stable. Paramedics reported vitals including a blood pressure near 110, oxygen levels around 90% on room air, and unlabored respiration.
The transport was directed to Baptist Hospital, with crews confirming no need for emergent priority at the time. The specifics surrounding the location and cause of the crash have not been released.
