East Lyme, CT (August 22, 2026) – A 54-year-old construction worker was critically injured after becoming trapped by concrete barriers on Thursday morning, August 20, near New Frontage Road in East Lyme. The construction accident was reported around 10 a.m.
East Lyme Fire Service Chief William Bundy said emergency personnel freed the worker from the incident site. The man was treated at the scene for serious injuries before being taken to L&M Hospital, where he remained in critical condition. No other injuries were reported. OSHA is investigating the incident as officials continue to review what happened.
