What Should E-Bike Riders Know About Traffic Safety?
E-bikes can move at speeds that require riders to remain alert around motor vehicles, intersections, and other road users. Riders should follow traffic rules and watch carefully for vehicles approaching from different directions.
Protective equipment can provide added protection during an e-bike accident. Helmets can help reduce the risk of head injuries, while appropriate clothing may provide some protection during a fall or roadway contact.
Intersections can create additional challenges because vehicles and e-bike riders may cross paths. Clear visibility, careful speed control, and attention from everyone using the roadway can help reduce the risk of serious injuries.
