What Factors Are Commonly Reviewed After a Bicycle Crash?
Bicycle crashes can occur for many reasons, including loss of control, roadway conditions, mechanical issues, or unexpected movements into traffic. When a cyclist is seriously injured, investigators often examine the sequence of events leading up to the collision to better understand how it happened.
Information that may be reviewed includes the roadway layout, visibility conditions, vehicle and bicycle positions, and any physical evidence found at the scene. Investigators may also consider factors such as traffic flow, weather conditions, and potential obstacles that could have affected the cyclist’s path. In situations involving a motor vehicle, damage patterns and witness accounts can provide additional context. These details help create a clearer picture of the circumstances surrounding the crash and the events that led to the injuries.
