Berkeley, CA (July 26, 2026) – A cyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on Friday afternoon, July 24, in South Berkeley. The crash happened around 1:10 p.m. in the 2800 block of Sacramento Street.
According to early reports, the 66-year-old cyclist was riding through the area when a southbound vehicle struck him. The impact reportedly threw the cyclist about 10 feet into the air and left him unconscious. Emergency units responded to the scene, and the cyclist was taken to Highland Hospital for treatment.
Traffic was blocked in both directions near Oregon Street and Julia Street while the crash was investigated. Witnesses reported significant windshield damage from the impact.
