Crash Risks Involving Utility Trucks on Busy Roadways
Utility vehicles such as cherry-picker trucks are commonly used for maintenance and service work along city roads. These large trucks can weigh significantly more than passenger vehicles and often have extended equipment that affects their maneuverability.
Collisions involving utility trucks may lead to more severe vehicle damage due to the size difference between the vehicles involved. When these crashes occur on busy roads, lane closures are often necessary to allow responders to secure the area.
Urban corridors like South Flamingo Road typically carry steady traffic throughout the day. Intersections, turning vehicles, and varying vehicle sizes can all influence how safely traffic moves along these routes.
