Daviess, MO (January 8, 2026) – One person lost their life and another sustained injuries following a serious two-vehicle collision Wednesday evening at the intersection of MO-6 and Rt DD, approximately one mile west of Gallatin in Daviess County.
The crash occurred around 6:02 p.m. and involved a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox and a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop H responded to the scene along with additional agencies. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the roadway by Bridgeman’s.
The driver of the Chevrolet Equinox, a 26-year-old man from Lawson, MO, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, a 38-year-old man from Union Star, MO, was treated for a variety of injuries and transported by Cameron EMS to Mosaic Life Care for further medical evaluation.
Following the initial impact, both vehicles traveled off the south side of the roadway. The Silverado overturned and struck a utility pole and a fence before coming to rest, while the Equinox remained upright off the roadway. The intersection was closed for a period of time as emergency crews worked to assist those involved and conduct the investigation.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol, with assistance from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
