Dayton, OH (January 26, 2026) – A tragic accident took place Sunday morning in Dayton, leaving a snowplow company employee dead after being run over by a plow on St. Paul Ave.
According to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch, the incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. in the 600 block of St. Paul Ave, where a private snow removal crew was working to clear a lot affected by the winter storm. While maneuvering within the area, a snowplow backed over one of the company’s employees, striking the man in what authorities have classified as a pedestrian versus vehicle collision.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene, and medics provided immediate aid before transporting the injured man to a nearby hospital. Despite their efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
Dayton Police Department’s Traffic Services Unit has taken over the investigation. Police Information Specialist James Rider confirmed the plow involved was operated by a private company and the incident occurred on private property.
Officials have not yet released the name of the victim, pending family notification.
