How Left-Turn Crashes at Intersections Can Happen
Crashes at intersections often occur when one vehicle turns left across oncoming traffic. Drivers making a turn must judge the speed and distance of approaching vehicles, which can be difficult at night or in busy areas. Motorcycles can be harder to spot due to their smaller size, which may increase the risk of a collision.
When a turning vehicle crosses into the path of another, there is little time to react. These situations can lead to direct side impacts or head-on crashes. Factors such as visibility, timing, and traffic flow all influence how these incidents unfold, especially on highways that pass through intersections.
