Perry Township, OH (September 12, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision involving a commercial truck claimed the life of a 17-year-old Minerva boy on Thursday afternoon on US 30 westbound. The collision occurred around 12:19 p.m. on September 10, in Perry Township, and temporarily closed the highway.
According to the preliminary report, Grant Hale was driving a 2013 Ford Fusion when his vehicle crossed the median and struck a 2018 Mack Truck traveling west in the right lane. Both vehicles then left the north side of the highway and entered a wooded area. Hale suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead by the Stark County Coroner’s Office.
The Mack Truck driver was hurt and taken to a hospital for treatment. US 30 has since reopened following the wreck. The circumstances leading to the collision remain under review as the investigation continues.
