What Drivers Should Know About Large Truck Blind Spots
Large commercial trucks have substantial blind spots around the front, sides, and rear of the vehicle. Smaller vehicles can be difficult for truck drivers to see when they remain in these areas.
Drivers should give semi-trucks plenty of space and avoid staying alongside their trailers for extended periods. Maintaining a safe following distance also provides more time to react if traffic changes suddenly.
At night, visibility can become more difficult for every driver, particularly around large vehicles. Keeping headlights clean, maintaining a safe speed, and staying alert can help reduce the risk of a serious roadway accident.
