How Drivers and Riders Can Help Prevent Motorcycle Crashes
Motorcyclists have less protection than people inside passenger vehicles, which can make crashes especially dangerous. Drivers should check their blind spots and look carefully for motorcycles before turning or changing lanes.
Motorcyclists can reduce their risk by maintaining a safe speed and staying alert to surrounding traffic. Wearing a helmet and appropriate protective gear can also help limit injuries during a crash.
