Walhalla, SC (August 15, 2026) – A 44-year-old motorcyclist succumbed to their injuries on Thursday evening, August 13, in a two-vehicle crash on South Highway 11 near Walhalla. The collision occurred at the intersection of Castlebrook Drive at approximately 5:40 p.m.
EMS and Fire crews responded to the crash in Oconee County. The motorcycle operator was identified as Donnie Ray Woody, 44, of Walhalla. Woody died at the scene from blunt force trauma injuries, according to the Oconee County Coroner’s Office. The coroner classified his death as accidental.
Additional details about the other vehicle and the circumstances leading to the collision were not immediately available. The incident remains under investigation as the South Carolina Highway Patrol works to determine what happened.
