Safety Around Railroad Crossings and Highways
Crashes involving trains and vehicles can cause severe damage because of the size and weight of trains. Drivers should remain alert near railroad tracks and avoid entering areas where a vehicle could become trapped.
A vehicle that leaves a highway can also encounter hazards beyond the roadway. Guardrails, bridges, tracks, and other structures may increase the severity of a collision. Staying focused and maintaining control can help reduce the risk of a serious crash.
