Frequently Asked Questions
How do weather and road conditions affect the chances of a crash?
Rain, fog, glare and uneven pavement can all cut down on reaction time and visibility, which is part of why work zones and lane shifts call for extra caution even in clear weather.
What should I do right after a car accident?
Check for injuries, move to a safe spot if possible, call 911, and exchange information with the other driver. Get medical care even if injuries seem minor, since some symptoms show up later.
Where do most traffic crashes happen?
Many crashes occur on highways and multi-lane roads where speeds are higher, including stretches with construction or lane closures that force sudden slowdowns.
