Detroit, MI (January 16, 2026) – Emergency medical teams responded to two separate traffic accidents near I‑94 in Detroit during the early hours of January 15. One crash was reported near Mount Elliott Street, and the other occurred near the I‑75 interchange. While responders initially questioned whether the incidents were related, they were ultimately treated as distinct crashes.
At least one individual was confirmed to have sustained injuries and was transported from the scene by a secondary EMS crew. The extent of the injuries was not released, and officials have not yet confirmed how many vehicles were involved in either crash.
The incidents caused some disruption near key freeway connectors, and authorities remained on scene to coordinate traffic safety and gather information. The investigation is ongoing as crews work to determine the cause of each collision and whether environmental or mechanical factors were involved.
