Dixon, CA (January 9, 2026) – A deadly rollover crash on Interstate 505 near Allendale Road claimed at least one life Wednesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at approximately 6:18 p.m. on the southbound side of I-505, just outside the Dixon area. Two vehicles were involved in the crash, with one car overturning and coming to rest on its side. Preliminary information suggests that one of the vehicles may have been traveling in the wrong direction before the crash occurred, though this has not yet been confirmed by investigators.
Responding medics and fire crews arrived swiftly at the scene, where they began assessing the situation and providing aid. Sadly, at least one individual was pronounced dead as a result of the crash. It remains unclear whether other individuals sustained injuries in the incident.
Due to the severity of the collision, authorities shut down all southbound lanes of the interstate near Allendale Road to facilitate emergency operations and accident reconstruction efforts. The closures led to traffic delays and detours as officials worked into the night.
The CHP is continuing its investigation into the events leading up to the crash and whether wrong-way driving was a contributing factor. No additional details, including the identity of the deceased, have been made public.
