Jasper, TX (September 6, 2026) – A 22-year-old woman lost her life in a rear-end crash on Friday evening, September 5, on State Highway 63 West near County Road 168 in Jasper County. The crash happened around 6:30 p.m.

The woman was driving an SUV west on Highway 63 West and slowed to make a left turn onto County Road 168. An 18-year-old driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck reportedly failed to control his speed and struck the rear of the SUV.

The SUV driver, a Tennessee woman, was taken to CHRISTUS Jasper Memorial Hospital, where she later died. The 18-year-old driver from Zavalla was not injured.
