Why UTV Crashes Can Cause Serious Injuries
Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTVs) are smaller off-road vehicles that can reach high speeds and carry multiple passengers. Their open design offers little protection in the event of a rollover or collision, making injuries more likely.
Terrain, obstacles, and sharp turns can increase the risk of losing control. Minors riding in UTVs are particularly vulnerable, as seat belts and other safety restraints may be insufficient or improperly used.
Because UTVs often operate on uneven surfaces, emergency responders must act quickly to provide medical care and secure the scene to prevent further harm.
