Ulster, NY (June 24, 2026) – One person was hurt after a two-vehicle collision on Old Kings Hwy near Bogerts Ln in the town of Ulster early on Monday morning.

According to the Ulster Police Department, the collision occurred around 6:30 a.m. Officers arrived to find a Nissan and a Ford with heavy front-end damage in the southbound lane.

The Nissan driver was removed from the vehicle and taken to Health Alliance Hospital for treatment. The Ford driver was not reported to have any injuries.

The roadway was closed for more than an hour while emergency units worked at the site. The area was later reopened after the vehicles were cleared.

Investigators are continuing to determine what led to the accident. We are thinking of the injured driver and hope for a smooth recovery.

How Front-End Collisions Can Result in Serious Damage

Front-end collisions often occur when the front sections of two vehicles collide, creating significant force between them. The amount of damage can depend on vehicle speed, size, angle of contact, and safety features.

Modern vehicles are designed with systems that help protect occupants during a collision, including crumple zones and restraint systems. However, even vehicles with these features can sustain significant damage in a direct front-end collision.

Reviews of these crashes may include examining vehicle damage, roadway markings, weather conditions, and driver actions before the collision. These details can help create a clearer timeline and explain how the vehicles moved before and after the contact.
