Staten Island, NY (June 24, 2026) – Two people were injured after a basement fire was reported at a home on Davis Ave in West Brighton early on Tuesday morning.
The fire was reported at approximately 5:52 a.m. at 230 Davis Ave, between Henderson Ave and Walnut St, according to the initial report. Emergency units worked to bring the flames under control by 6:45 a.m.
About 21 units with 79 firefighters and medical personnel assisted with efforts at the home. Additional details about the injuries and the identities of those affected were not immediately released.
The cause of the fire remains under review as investigators work to determine its origin. We are thinking of those injured and hope they continue to recover.
