DeKalb County, MO (September 10, 2026) – A 68-year-old man died, and another driver was seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday morning at the intersection of US 36 and MO 33. The crash occurred around 11:20 a.m., about one mile north of Osborn.
The 68-year-old Stewartsville man was driving a Jeep Compass southbound on MO 33 when he failed to stop at a stop sign. His vehicle struck the driver’s side of an eastbound Kenworth T680 traveling on US 36.
The Jeep driver was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 12:30 p.m. The 71-year-old Webster City, Iowa, truck driver was taken to a St. Joseph hospital with serious injuries. Authorities towed both vehicles from the area. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation.
