Augusta, ME (August 29, 2026) – A 29-year-old driver was killed early on Thursday morning, August 27, in a two-vehicle crash involving a car and a commercial truck at Route 3 and West River Road in Augusta.
According to the Augusta Police Department, the collision happened shortly before 6:00 a.m. and involved a Toyota Camry and a commercial vehicle. The 29-year-old Camry driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Route 3 between West River Road and the Interstate 95 roundabouts was closed following the crash. Police advised drivers to expect delays and detours while emergency crews and investigators worked in the area. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
