Head-On Crash Risks on Anderson County Roads
Head-on collisions can produce severe injuries because vehicles traveling in opposite directions may have significant combined speed at the time of impact. Crossing the center line can place an approaching vehicle directly in the path of another road user.
Drivers should remain attentive to lane position and maintain a safe speed for roadway conditions. Fatigue, distraction, impairment, and sudden vehicle movements can increase the risk of leaving a designated travel lane.
Keeping both hands available for steering and avoiding distractions can help drivers maintain control. Seat belts also provide important protection by helping keep occupants properly positioned during a serious collision.
