Taylorsville, UT (July 22, 2026) – One person lost their life after a crash involving a passenger car and a semi-truck on Interstate 215 near Redwood Road in Taylorsville.
According to confirmed information, a Hyundai Elantra was traveling eastbound when its hood became unlatched and flipped onto the windshield, prompting the driver to stop the vehicle between lanes two and three. A semi-truck traveling behind the Elantra was unable to stop in time and struck the stopped vehicle. The driver of the Elantra suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead.
The semi-truck driver was not injured in the collision. Traffic lanes remained closed for about four hours while the crash scene was examined and cleared. We extend our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.
