Newton, KS (July 29, 2026) – A 43-year-old man died Tuesday, July 28, after a dump truck and car collided near Newton. The collision occurred that afternoon at U.S. Highway 50 and Ridge Road.
A dump truck driven south on Ridge Road entered the intersection and struck an eastbound 1988 Cadillac DeVille. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that the truck driver had failed to yield at a stop sign.
The Cadillac overturned and came to rest on its roof in a ditch southwest of the intersection. The dump truck rolled onto its side and stopped facing east.
The Cadillac driver was identified as Justin J. Farley of Pretty Prairie.
