Dundee Township, IL (January 14, 2026) – Emergency crews from multiple jurisdictions responded Tuesday morning to a vehicle accident involving injuries on Interstate 90 westbound at the Plaza 9 Toll Area near Elgin.
The crash, which occurred around 11:20 a.m., prompted mutual aid from fire and rescue units in East Dundee, West Dundee, and Carpentersville. Ambulances from these neighboring departments were dispatched to assist Elgin personnel at the scene.
Initial dispatch communications confirmed that Ambulance 41 was the first en route, with others placed on standby or later cleared. Responders arriving at the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway location reported that injuries had occurred, although the extent and nature of those injuries remain undisclosed at this time.
Westbound traffic near the toll plaza experienced temporary delays as emergency responders tended to victims and assessed the scene for hazards. Units remained active in the area until the scene was stabilized.
