Columbus, OH (August 26, 2026) – A driver struck an e-bike rider from behind Monday afternoon, August 24, on Courtright Road in Columbus, then sped away. The rider was traveling southbound near East Deshler Avenue when an unknown vehicle hit them, causing injuries.
The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Courtright Road and East Deshler Avenue on the city’s Southeast Side. The driver did not stop after striking the rider and has not been identified.
A family member drove the victim to OSU East Hospital instead of having an ambulance take them. Columbus police were called to the hospital, where the rider provided information about what happened.
The Columbus Division of Police Accident Investigation Unit is handling the case and is working to identify the vehicle and driver. The investigation remains active as police seek additional information about the accident.
