Gardena, CA (August 31, 2026) – A man was seriously injured Saturday night after a vehicle struck him while he was riding an electric scooter near the Hustler Casino in Gardena shortly after 10 p.m. on Saturday, August 29. The accident occurred near Redondo Beach Boulevard and Vermont Avenue.
According to police, officers arrived and found the scooter rider lying in the roadway. He was unconscious but breathing at the time. The victim had not been identified in the available information. He was taken by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation. The circumstances that led to the collision were not immediately known. We are thinking of the injured man and wishing him a full recovery.
