How High-Speed Single-Vehicle Crashes Usually Leave Severe Damage
Single-vehicle crashes may involve only one car, but they are frequently serious when a fixed object is struck. Poles, trees, walls, and barriers do not move with the force of a vehicle, which may increase injury risk.
Speed changes how much time a driver has to react. It also increases the force placed on everyone inside the vehicle when a sudden stop happens.
Late-night travel may add more risk because traffic is lighter, visibility is lower, and drivers may have less time to notice road edges or intersections. In severe cases, early reports regularly focus on the number of people involved, hospital care, and whether impairment is being considered.
