Inside the Hyundai SUV, a male passenger was critically hurt and taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died. Both drivers were also taken to the hospital for care of non-life-threatening injuries. No names have been released at this stage.
Alcohol is being investigated as a possible factor, as both drivers showed signs consistent with consumption. The investigation remains ongoing.
We extend our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased passenger.
What Is Commonly Examined in Late-Night Intersection Collisions?
Late-night traffic events at intersections are commonly analyzed by examining driver movement patterns, signal timing, and right-of-way decisions. Low-light conditions around early morning hours can affect depth perception and reaction timing. When alcohol is involved, coordination and judgment may also be reduced, increasing the chance of driving errors during turns or straight-through travel.
Vehicle positioning and roadway design are also assessed to understand how each vehicle entered the shared crossing space. Skid marks, vehicle damage patterns, and witness accounts can help reconstruct the sequence of movement. Even small timing differences between vehicles can lead to serious consequences at crossings where multiple traffic flows intersect.
