East Granby, CT (February 2, 2026) – An accident involving injuries was reported Saturday morning in East Granby at the intersection of Rainbow Road, also known as Route 20, and International Drive. Dispatch centers began receiving multiple 911 calls around 9:50 a.m., alerting authorities to a serious motor vehicle collision in the area.
Initial reports indicate that the accident involved a box truck and a crossover SUV at the busy roadway near the Bradley International Airport corridor. Due to the nature of the collision, emergency crews were sent to the scene to assist those involved and secure the area.
East Granby Resident Troopers, along with East Granby Fire and Granby emergency medical services, arrived to provide assistance. Fire and medical personnel worked to assess the occupants and provide care to those suffering from a variety of injuries following the accident. One individual was transported to UConn for advanced medical treatment to address injuries sustained in the collision.
Traffic along Route 20 experienced temporary disruptions as responders worked to manage the scene and clear the roadway. The accident remains under investigation as officials continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
