East Liverpool, OH (March 26, 2026) – A crash involving a school bus and another vehicle led to a road closure on Thursday morning, March 26, along State Route 7. The incident occurred just north of Beaver Local, prompting emergency units to respond.

Reports indicate that a Beaver Local school bus was carrying children at the time of the crash. None of the kids on board were hurt, and no injuries were reported among those on the bus.

The driver of the other vehicle was seriously hurt and was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. The extent of their condition has not been shared at this time.

State Route 7 remains closed in the area as crews work at the scene. There is no estimated time for when the roadway will reopen.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available. We are thinking of the injured driver as they receive medical care.

What Happens When a Crash Involves a School Bus on a Busy Road?

When a crash involves a school bus, safety checks often focus first on the condition of the children and the bus driver. Even when no one appears to be hurt, evaluations may still take place to ensure everyone is okay.

Road closures are common after such incidents, especially on highways or state routes. Crews may need time to clear damaged vehicles and check for hazards before traffic can safely resume.

The other vehicle involved is also reviewed, including the circumstances of the impact and the resulting damage. Road conditions, visibility, and traffic flow at the time of the crash may also be examined to better understand how the crash occurred.
