What Happens When a Crash Involves a School Bus on a Busy Road?
When a crash involves a school bus, safety checks often focus first on the condition of the children and the bus driver. Even when no one appears to be hurt, evaluations may still take place to ensure everyone is okay.
Road closures are common after such incidents, especially on highways or state routes. Crews may need time to clear damaged vehicles and check for hazards before traffic can safely resume.
The other vehicle involved is also reviewed, including the circumstances of the impact and the resulting damage. Road conditions, visibility, and traffic flow at the time of the crash may also be examined to better understand how the crash occurred.
