What Factors Can Influence Crashes on Bridges and Elevated Roadways?
Bridges like the Murray Baker Bridge often carry steady traffic and have limited space for movement. When incidents occur, there may be fewer options for drivers to avoid hazards.
Visibility and roadway conditions can also affect safety. Changes in elevation, lighting, or traffic flow may influence how drivers respond to situations on bridges.
Traffic disruptions can happen quickly in these areas. Lane closures and congestion may increase the risk of additional incidents if drivers are not alert to changing conditions.
