What Factors Can Affect Crashes on Rural Two-Lane Roads?
Roads like County Road 315 near Northeast 90th Street Road often have limited space and fewer lanes, which can increase the risk of collisions. Drivers traveling in opposite directions must share the roadway without a physical barrier.
Surrounding conditions, such as wooded areas, may limit visibility. Curves, shadows, and changing light can make it harder to see oncoming traffic or hazards ahead.
Speed and reaction time also play a role. On rural roads, drivers may travel faster, which can increase the severity of crashes when they occur.
