What Factors Are Commonly Reviewed After a Fatal Pedestrian Accident?
When a fatal pedestrian accident occurs, investigators typically examine several pieces of evidence to understand how the incident happened. They usually review the location of the pedestrian, vehicle speed, roadway design, lighting conditions, weather, and visibility at the time of the collision. Physical evidence at the scene may also help establish the sequence of events.
Witness statements, surveillance video, and vehicle damage can provide additional context. Investigators may also determine whether marked crosswalks, traffic signals, or other roadway features were present. These findings help build a clearer picture of the circumstances surrounding the accident while ensuring that all available evidence is carefully documented.
