Why School Bus Crashes Can Cause Injuries
Crashes involving school buses can affect multiple passengers at once because buses carry several students. Even minor collisions can cause injuries when students are standing, moving inside the bus, or not wearing seat belts.
The height and weight of a bus can also increase the impact force on smaller vehicles involved in the crash. Emergency crews often focus on quickly evacuating passengers and checking for injuries, even if the damage to the bus appears minor.
Roadway intersections are common crash locations because vehicles may fail to yield, misjudge turns, or miss signals, making vigilance important for both drivers and bus operators.
