Cassville, MO (July 8, 2026) – Three people were injured on Monday evening, July 6, in a two-vehicle collision at Farm Road 1135 and Farm Road 2185, about two miles southeast of Cassville. The accident was reported at about 6:31 p.m.

According to the report, a 2012 Kia Forte was traveling east on Farm Road 2185. A 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling south on Farm Road 1135 when the vehicles collided at the intersection.

A 15-year-old girl riding in the Kia had moderate injuries and was brought to Mercy Rogers in Arkansas. A 19-year-old woman riding in the Hyundai had minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital Cassville, while the 23-year-old Hyundai driver also had minor injuries and went to Mercy Cassville by private conveyance.

Both vehicles went off the right side of the roadway, and the Hyundai overturned.

The wreck remains under review. We hope those hurt receive steady care and recover fully.

Why Rural Intersection Crashes Can Lead to Multiple Injuries

Rural intersections can be difficult to judge because drivers may be moving at steady speeds with fewer traffic signals or lane markers nearby. Stop signs, sight lines, hills, trees, and road angles can all affect how quickly one vehicle becomes visible to another.

When two vehicles meet at an intersection, the direction of travel can shape the force of contact. A side-angle hit may push vehicles off the road or cause them to overturn, increasing the risk of injury to drivers and passengers.

Medical outcomes can vary within the same vehicle. Seating position, restraint use, vehicle damage, and the location of the strongest force may all affect the severity of the harm. Later reports often help clarify the full vehicle paths and injury details.
