Bassett, VA (July 21, 2026) – Authorities responded to a fatal two-vehicle crash near Crest View Drive on the 5500 block of Fairystone Park Highway in Bassett on Sunday afternoon, July 19. The collision was reported around 4:53 p.m.
According to officials, one person was killed in the crash. A woman and a child were airlifted to a hospital for treatment. Emergency crews established a landing zone near the Bassett Volunteer Fire Department for the medical helicopters. A dog involved in the crash was also taken into custody by animal services. The roadway was completely closed while crews worked at the scene.
