Why Manufacturing Plant Explosions Can Injure Workers
When there are explosions in a manufacturing plant, it can cause injuries in several ways. A blast may create heat, pressure, flying debris, smoke, or chemical exposure, depending on the materials and equipment inside the building. Workers nearby may suffer burns, breathing problems, hearing damage, cuts, or blunt-force trauma.
Facilities that make packaging products may use machinery, electrical systems, compressed air, heat, and other industrial equipment. After an explosion, safety teams may check the building for fire risks, structural damage, hazardous materials, and air quality concerns. Investigators may review equipment, maintenance records, work activity, building systems, and witness statements to determine how the blast happened and why several employees were hurt.
