Child Pedestrian Accidents Are Especially Tragic and Complex
Crashes involving young children are among the most devastating incidents investigators encounter. Young children can be difficult for drivers to see, especially in residential areas where vehicles may be reversing, turning, or traveling at low speeds.
Roadways such as Havana Street often run through neighborhoods where children may be present near homes, yards, or driveways.
In these cases, investigators carefully review the circumstances surrounding the incident, including vehicle movement, visibility conditions, and witness statements. Authorities will continue examining evidence as they work to understand exactly how the tragic collision occurred.
