Richmond County, VA (July 31, 2026) – A 70-year-old Farnham man lost his life in a head-on collision Wednesday morning on Richmond Rd (Rte 360) just east of Meadowbrook Rd in Richmond County. The fatal accident was reported at approximately 5:39 a.m. on July 29.
According to the preliminary investigation, a 2005 Chevrolet Impala was traveling west on Richmond Rd at a high rate of speed when it crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with a 2014 Dodge Charger. The Impala driver, identified as James Laws of Farnham, died at the scene.
The driver of the Dodge Charger sustained minor injuries but declined treatment at a hospital. No additional details about the collision were immediately released. The cause of the wreck remains under investigation as investigators continue reviewing the available evidence.
