Farwell, TX (July 15, 2026) – A 23-year-old Farwell man died after his pickup truck collided with a semi-truck early Tuesday morning, July 14, on Farm-to-Market Road 145 east of Farwell in Parmer County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision occurred shortly before 6 a.m. Investigators said a semi was traveling west on FM 145 while a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 was heading east. The pickup crossed into the westbound lane and struck the semi. Following the collision, the Dodge rolled over and caught fire.
The pickup driver, Christian Alberto Cano, 23, of Farwell, was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash. The semi driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, New Mexico, for treatment. The circumstances surrounding the fatal collision remain under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.
