Chicago, IL (August 10, 2026) – A 25-year-old woman died on Saturday night after a chain-reaction hit-and-run crash on Chicago’s North Side. The crash happened around 9:22 p.m. in the 1400 block of West Irving Park Road on August 8.
The woman had walked between two parked cars and entered the street when a male driver in a blue sedan struck her. The driver fled and then hit a dark-colored SUV, causing a chain-reaction collision involving a black car. After the second crash, the SUV driver followed the blue sedan.
The fleeing driver later crashed into a tree and then ran into a nearby building in the 4000 block of North Ashland Avenue. Emergency units took the woman to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where she died from her injuries. The driver of the blue sedan was taken into custody.
