Wet Roads and Late-Night Travel Affect Crash Reviews
Late-night crashes on wet roads may require a detailed review because visibility, road surface, and vehicle position all matter. A wet highway can change how tires grip the pavement, especially when vehicles are moving at higher speeds.
Darkness may also make it harder for drivers to judge distance, lane position, or traffic entering from nearby roads. Even with headlights, curves, glare, and rain-slick pavement may affect what a driver sees before contact.
When two vehicles collide on a highway, reports may examine travel direction, roadway markings, airbag deployment, road surface, and final vehicle positions. Investigators may also review whether weather or lighting played a role. These details help explain how the crash happened and why it led to a fatal outcome.
