What Is Reviewed After a Head-On Crash?

Head-on crashes are examined closely because the direction of travel can create a strong impact between vehicles. Investigators may review vehicle damage, roadway conditions, driver actions, and evidence from the scene to determine how the collision occurred.

Photos, witness statements, and vehicle inspections can help establish the sequence of events before the crash. Information about the roadway layout, traffic conditions, and final resting positions of the vehicles may also provide additional details about the circumstances surrounding the collision.
