Phoenix, AZ (July 12, 2026) – A man was killed on Friday morning, July 10, at approximately 3:45 a.m. after being struck by a tow truck near 7th Street and Thomas Road in central Phoenix.
Officers responding to the scene found a male pedestrian with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries. The pedestrian’s identity was not released.
Preliminary information indicated the man stepped into the curb lane and was moving backward when he was struck by the tow truck. The driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. Our condolences go out to the family and all who are grieving.
