What to Know About Crashes at Intersections
Crashes at intersections can happen when vehicles travel through crossing paths or when a driver turns across another vehicle’s path. Visibility, traffic signals, speed, and driver attention can affect the risk of a collision.
Drivers should approach intersections carefully and watch for vehicles traveling from different directions. Checking for traffic before turning or entering an intersection can help reduce the chance of a crash.
When a collision causes serious injuries or a death, the vehicles and the surrounding area may provide key evidence about what happened. Information from the roadway, vehicle damage, and available records can help establish the sequence of events.
